The Business Development & Planning Specialist in addition to establishing and overseeing the governance structure they have a critical role in key strategic initiatives across all the P&Ls diversified markets. Additionally, this role will partner with their leadership to ensure diversified market strategies are integrated within the unit and connected to larger IHG2025 strategies and goals. In addition this position will play a role in managing and driving certain strategic projects on behalf of the office of the EVP and President of Diversified markets as well as other senior leaders within the unit. The Business Development & Planning Specialist is a critical role for the sustainable growth of the organization and is a job family or role with focus across markets or within markets.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1. Partner with the Office of the EVP and President of Diversified Markets with all key strategic and operational projects and initiatives providing recommendations on priorities and trade-offs.2. Own establishing key Diversified Markets Leadership Team meetings including overall Leadership governance structure.3. Responsible for making recommendations and decisions, assigning actions, and proactively evaluating risks and mitigation strategies.4. Develop tracking processes and tools to track trade-offs, decisions, risks, etc. across all projects regardless of P&L to be reviewed at leadership meetings.5. Act as project lead / owner for select strategic initiatives from the Office of the EVP and President of Diversified markets.6. Contributes to the alignment and integration of market, P&L, etc. strategies with overall IHG efforts.7. Lead multiple and simultaneous project/workgroup meetings and assign takeaways to different functional areas.8. Work to build consensus among team members and offer knowledge where applicable as it pertains to initiatives being support and/or the Diversified Markets strategy.9. Report out regularly on project status and raise any concerns or flags with manager.10. Document project plans and design various process flows.11. Design presentations and produce content for various strategic initiatives and regular meetings.12. Create business plan across diversified markets for strategic initiatives with input from management team.13. Own and maintains cross-market / cross P&L documentation and reporting processes to drive data driven decision making.14. Manage of day-to-day relationships with market level planning leaders and specialist to ensure alignment with overarching strategic goals.15. Help support integration with share serviced organization for diversified markets and act as point of contact for select shared service functions such as Corporate Strategy
REQUIRED SKILLS: * Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field, or equivalent experience. * 3-5 years of related work experience. * Ability to work independently and interface with multiple cross-functional teams. * Ability to develop, and formalize written communications that details findings, recommendations, and executive summaries. * Must have developed analytical and problem-solving skills. * Ability to work in a multi-task environment with project management skills preferred. * Knowledgeable of Microsoft office produc s including Excel and PowerPoint * Innovative thinker exhibiting strong ownership and personal accountability. * Leadership and business development growth skills including ability to create and manage national account & consultant/broker relationships. * Ability to work with multiple stakeholders both directly and indirectly supporting their business. * Entrepreneurial spirit with ability to identify and drive new opportunities. * Ability managing, influencing, and negotiating with a broad set of internal and external stakeholders, including customers.
