  Salary: Drivers in Training will receive $21.89 hour plus benefits/ Range 23Additional salary credit may be given for internal transfers and recentGreeley-Evans School District 6 rehires, up to $34.14 per hour plus benefits

  Once training is completed, Bus Drivers will receive $23.07 an hour plusbenefits/ Range 25Additional salary credit may be given for internal transfers and recentGreeley-Evans School District 6 rehires, up to $36.04 per hour plus benefitsAll new drivers are eligible for a one-time $1,000 bonus, payable 3months after training is completed (must be continuously employed uponcompletion of training) ORDrivers who are hired with the appropriate CDE and/or CDL endorsements areeligible for a one-time $3,000 bonus, payable 3 months after training iscompleted (must be continuously employed upon completion of training)Drivers who work the following months will be eligible to recieve $250retention bonusesFebruary - April (2024) - Paid May 2024May (2024) - Paid June 2024

  Contract Length/ Days: (2023-2024/ 181)

  EDUCATION/EXPERIENCERequired:High school diploma or GEDValid Colorado driver's licenseSchool transportation vehicle operator's permitMust be 21 years of age(Insurance purposes )Must complete a minimum of 40 hours of initial training at District 6 expenseand 28 Hours of retraining each year thereafterA physical examination required each yearSafe driving recordPreferred:CPI training (Can obtain certification after hire)CPR/First AID Training (Can obtain certification after hire)Current CDE certification. (Can obtain certification after hire)

  JOB DESCRIPTIONSummary/Objective: Responsible for operating a school transportationvehicle over an assigned route abiding by all rules and regulations for thesafety of the passengers as set forth by the district, state and federalgovernment agencies.

  Essential Functions:Responsible for operating a transportation vehicle over a scheduled route asdirected.Performs a pre-trip inspection assuring that all equipment, including safetydevices, is in a safe and proper operating order.Maintains and promotes a professional and defensive driving attitude at alltimes.Responsible for maintaining proper student behavior as required to transportpassengers safely.Reports immediately (by radio or telephone) any emergencies, breakdownsor delays while en-route including student discipline problems.Responsible for reporting all accidents, driving hazards and incidents ofdamage or vandalism as soon as possible.Prepares and submits daily report.Responsible for the interior and exterior cleanliness of the transportationvehicle.May be requested to do night driving, weekend driving and special daytimetrips.May be requested to drive athletic, activity and special trips as assignedby the supervisor.Ability to sit for long periods of time, numerous distractions, visual,auditory and ambulatory acuity important.Ability to move quickly from one position to another in response to studentneeds and upper body strength with the ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.

  Additional Qualifications: Applicant mu t have the ability to effectivelyrelate in a positive manner with staff, students and the public; abilityto perform all functions of the position.
