Job Title: Budget Analyst

Salary Range: $70K - $80K*

Position Overview:
Under the supervision of the Budget Director the Financial Analyst will collaborate with various groups within Vibrant. This role is designed to communicate budget information between Finance and our various programs and administration. It is expected to manage highly sensitive confidential information with accuracy, discretion and integrity. The Financial Analyst must be service-oriented, well organized, and detail-oriented with strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize, think critically, identify potential issues and offer solutions. The Financial Analyst must have strong financial and analytical skills, including expertise in Excel including pivot tables, data warehouses, reporting tools, queries and report preparation
Duties/Responsibilities:
Assists in the development and preparation of the annual operating budget
Assists with preparing monthly spreads of the annual operating budget
Assists in the development of the annual personnel roster for all funded positions
Prepares monthly variance rosters, with FTE/Headcount by funding source
Assist Finance in review and communication of variances to budget
Assist Finance with any month-end or year-end reporting activity
Assist with budget adjustments and expense approval request for programs and administration
Assist with any ad hoc budget analyses and reports requested from Finance.
Use FPA and accounting software to query and manipulate data that will be used for reporting
Consolidates large sets of data from various sources to create meaningful reports that will drive budget decisions and methods
Comfortable with use of VBA/SQL to create templates in Excel
Required Skills/Abilities:
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Package
High level of expertise in Microsoft Excel
Understanding of basic accounting, financial statements, journal entries, and chart of accounts
Understanding of Accounting and Finance Software
Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Decision Making
Identifies multi-faceted problems affecting achievement of individual goals and provides solutions.
Decisions have minor organizational impact that may require consultation with internal and external stakeholders regarding issues, possible solutions and implementation of alternatives.
Analyzes and interprets issues, realigns responsibilities and proposes alternative solutions with Director.
Implements solutions for minor projects after approval; held accountable if no action is taken.
Multi-factor decision- making requiring research and analysis, subject to supervisory guidance.
Scope of Responsibility/Accountability:
Expected to provide regular updates to Director on assigned projects
Monitors and evaluates interim results and develops contingency plans for director’s review if objectives are off track.
Performance is reviewed by director level and above.
Required Qualifications:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
One to two years of relevant experience performing similar responsibilities.
With a Bachelor’s degree, one or more years of experience will be accepted.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.
Experience with accounting and finance software.
Experience with SAGE intact software a plus but not required
