  Your Opportunity

  Stantec is seeking a Bridge Engineer to join our team of transportation professionals servicing state and municipal clients in Maine, New Hampshire, and throughout New England. This position would be based out of the Portland, ME; Auburn, NH; or our South Burlington, VT office, but would be part of a larger New England transportation design group with offices in Burlington & Boston, MA; and several other satellite offices. The New England transportation structures group consists of about 30 bridge staff with varied experience and project backgrounds.

  Your Key Responsibilities

  Perform simple to complex bridge design and analysis.

  Develop design plans, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates.

  Prepare, check, and deliver engineering calculations, reports, and technical studies.

  Build a strong culture of quality design and teamwork.

  Assist with bridge inspection and load rating assignments.

  Carry out constructability reviews during the design of conventionally procured projects.

  Qualifications

  Your Capabilities and Credentials

  Experience with MaineDOT, NHDOT, and/or VTrans design standards and practices.

  Experience with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.

  Effective verbal, visual, and written communication skills.

  Proficient in MicroStation, MathCAD, & Microsoft Office.

  Experience using bridge design and analysis software (Merlin-Dash, CSiBridge, STAAD, AASHTOware, LPile, Group, LEAP-steel/concrete, etc.)

  Experience with bridge inspection and load rating.

  Education and Experience

  Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. Master’s degree in Structural Engineering desired.

  Minimum of 5 years of experience.

  Licensed Professional Engineer required.

  Position will primarily be in an office setting; may require some field work. The ability to work part-time from home will be extended to the candidate once in-office working relationships are established.
