Job Summary
Denver Health Medical Center has an opening for a Pediatrician to join ourteam at our Federico Pena Southwest Health Center. The provider will bejoining a team of IM-Peds and Pediatric providers who diagnose, treat, andhelp prevent diseases and injuries in children. May refer patients tospecialists for further diagnosis or treatment, as needed. Our primary careteam works across 10 Federally Qualified Health Centers and providesintegrated primary care services and refers to the Denver Health main campusfor subspecialty care.
Essential Functions:Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination,and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease,or injury in infants and children. (50%)Treat children who have minor illnesses, acute and chronic healthproblems, and growth and development concerns. (10%)Examine patients or order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests toobtain information on medical condition and determine diagnosis. (5%)Advise patients, parents or guardians, and community members concerningdiet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention. (5%)Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments withpatients and parents or guardians. (5%)Collect, record, and maintain patient information, such as medicalhistory, reports, or examination results. (5%)Monitor patients' conditions and progress and reevaluate treatments asnecessary. (5%)Refer patient to medical specialist or other practitioner when necessary. (5%)Teach residents or medical students about pediatric topics. (5%)Provide consulting services to other physicians. (5%)
Education:Doctorate Degree Graduate of an accredited medical school Required
Licenses:MD-Physician - State Medical Board Required
CertificationsBLS required through Red Cross or American Heart Association
