Description Our Walnut Creek client is seeking a Bookkeeper/Accounting Specialist to support the Finance Manager in processing payables, receivables, billings, and the employee payroll. QuickBooks online and Microsoft Excel used daily for accounting operations. Best fit for this busy multi-faceted position is someone highly organized, with a strong attention to detail, and excellent time management skills.
This position will be located in the Walnut Creek, California area and will be an excellent contract opportunity for a fast paced, self-starter who enjoys working independently.
Major responsibilities
Review payments received and record deposits
Oversee and maintain a well-run system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts; define bookkeeping policies and procedures
Manage and review general ledger
Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information
Be responsible for accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions
Maintain quality historical records by filing documents
Reconcile accounts by rectifying entries Requirements - Accounts Payable (AP) experience
Payroll experience preferred
Well-founded grasp of Microsoft Excel
Experience with in-house payroll
Practical knowledge of Form 1099
Billing experience required
Accounts Receivable (AR) experience
General familiarity with Automated Clearing House (ACH)
Proven knowledge of Quickbooks Online
BS Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration preferred
Experience using accounting software
Previous experience as a Bookkeeper preferred
