About Billing Clerk

Description

We are looking for a meticulous and highly organized Billing Clerk to join our team in Lexington-Fayette, Kentucky. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for setting up new customers, auditing customer accounts, handling invoice maintenance requests, and ensuring compliance with contract standards. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity and will require strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Responsibilities:

• Set up new customer accounts accurately and promptly.

• Conduct audits on customer setups to ensure accurate invoice billing.

• Handle various types of customer invoice maintenance requests.

• Perform audits on customer contracts to ensure compliance with standards.

• Log compliance issues and follow through until resolution.

• Communicate effectively with the management team regarding additional information requirements or non-compliance issues.

• Assist in updating and changing processes and policies to increase their level of understanding and acceptance.

• Support high transactional ad-hoc requests that may require analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

• Use Microsoft Excel to manipulate data for special projects and strategic requests.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.

• Strong attention to detail.

• High level of organizational skills.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to coordinate multiple projects with deadlines and changing priorities.

• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.

• Strong basic math skills.

• Strong time management and prioritization skills.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a requirement.

• Strong analytical skills are necessary to understand and interpret billing data.

• Must have excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy in billing tasks.

• Effective communication skills are needed to interact with clients and team members.

• Problem-solving abilities are crucial for resolving any billing discrepancies.

• Candidates should have strong organizational skills to manage and prioritize multiple billing tasks.

• Familiarity with billing software and systems is a plus.

• Must have the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

• Professionalism and ethical behavior are required when handling sensitive billing information.

• A high school diploma is required; a degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred.

• Previous experience in a billing role is advantageous.
