A Place to Be Proud.Responsibilities1. Serves as administrative designee during hours that administrative staff is not on the premises. Communicates issues to administrator, patient care services administration, program manager, or appropriate personnel as indicated.2. Ensures compliance with Hospital and Division of Patient Care Services policies and procedures.3. Directs Patient Care Services and other staff in the management and resolution of emergent and or crises.4. Demonstrates knowledge of the HEICS model and provides effective leadership and communication during emergencies and disasters.5. Manages, and overseas Hospital operations on a designated shift.6. Assesses individual patient, parent, and unit needs as necessary to direct staff and resolve problems.7. Assesses staffing needs for Patient Care Services areas individually and collectively, and distributes available personnel and other available resources to meet patient needs.8. Evaluates nursing staff performance in select situations and provides input to written evaluations as requested.9. Coordinates and directs patient throughout (admission, transfer, discharge) to ensure that patient/family needs are met promptly.10. Determines and facilitates patient placement in consideration of patient requirements for nursing and medical care and available resources.11.
