Title: Behavioral Health Crisis Specialist$61,526 - 91,832 / Posted Thru: 1-24-24
Location: Remote/Virtual - Must Live in Michigan
Purpose: To assist the Section Manager in the development of a comprehensive crisis system infrastructure for all Michiganders and all payers through the implementation of various crisis initiatives through the provision of project coordination, technical support, research, and coordination with key stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities:Interpret existing and proposed laws, policies, and procedures as they relate crisis service documentation and recommend and initiate efforts to streamline crisis service documentation as well as assessing opportunities for technological efficiencies.Establish and implement procedures to accurately gather and maintain a compilation of crisis system metrics across publicly funded crisis service programs.Provide project management for the execution of the stated strategic initiatives such as the psychiatric bed registry and Mi-SMART Medical Clearance.Develop and implement strategies for the creation of an all-payer type system and coordinates the involvement of key stakeholders.Provide project management, technical support, and subject matter expertise for the MDHHS crisis system development work.Represent MDHHS at various stakeholder meetings as required by the Section Manager.Provide technical and subject matter expertise to all stated strategic initiatives.Maintain a positive, strong, credible, professional, and interpersonal relationship with all parties relevant of MPHI projects, and represent the best interest of MDHHS, BPHASA, and MPHI at all times.Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree or higher in Public Health, Health Administration, Public Administration, Public Policy, Social Work, Business Administration, or another concentration related to the duties and responsibilities of the assigned project. Possession or pending imminent completion of a master's degree preferred. Education related to public/behavioral health administration preferred.
Experience: Three-to-five years of related and progressively more responsible work experience in public health administration (or related field); public/behavioral health care service delivery; Medicaid program policy, operations, and financing; project management; strategic planning; budgeting; public (including federal) grant and contract oversight and coordination; behavioral health integration; health information technology systems and associated data; analysis of policies, procedures, regulations, and laws pertinent to public/behavioral health; oversight of multiple and sometimes competing initiatives, leading small and large groups or meetings of subject matter experts, and a record of successful project implementation.
