  POSITION SUMMARY: The Behavioral Consultant, in collaboration with the family and other members of the treatment team, designs and directs the implementation of a resiliency plan which is individualized to each child's and family's needs.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Develop goals and objectives with the child and family that meet their individualized needs by reviewing the psychological evaluation, working with the family regarding treatment goals, and identifying presenting skills deficits or behaviors to identify what additional treatments may be neededMaintain at least weekly contact with caregivers, Mobile Therapists (MT), Behavioral Health Technician (BHT), and other team members in order to effectively monitor the implementation of the resiliency planFacilitate Interagency Service Planning Team (ISPT) meetings to review the child's progress relative to treatment goals, reviewing effective treatment interventions, and further deficit or treatment needs for the childComplete all documentation including but not limited to:Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) including the collection and interpretation of dataResiliency plan - development and updating the treatment plan as progress is madeInput formRequired outcome tools, e.g. Verbal Behavioral Milestones and Placement Program (VB-MAPP), adaptive behavior assessment skills (ABAS), child and adolescent needs and strength (CAN), and/or child outcome surveysAuthorization packetWeekly paperwork which includes but is not limited to progress notes and encounter formsProvide clinical supervision of assigned MTs, and BHTs (one (1) hour of individual supervision for the BHTs and one (1) hour of group supervision, and any additional supervision, as needed) to include training on resiliency plans, and behavioral interventions by making sure they are following the plans and intervention to track progress on treatment goals; ensure BHTs have current resiliency plan and progress notes by the monthly review/signing off on BHT progress notesEnsure compliance with the Child and Adolescent Service System Program (CASSP) principles, practice guidelines for Recovery and Resiliency, and principles of cultural competency by taking annual trainings, and demonstrating the CASSP principles in their day-to-day workPerform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and restrictive procedures and manual restraints using agency-trained protocolsPerform other duties as assignedIMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Clinical Coordinator, Clinical Supervisor or the Clinical DirectorDIRECT REPORTS: No direct reports; clinically supervises MTs and BHTsCONTACTS: Elwyn staff, school personnel, parent/family/guardian, Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) and funding agencies, child welfare and other state and federal agencies, physicians/medical personnel, community members, specialists, and consultantsEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIREMENTSCertification as a board certified behavioral analyst (BCBA) or other graduate-level certification in behavior analysis that is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies or the American National Standards Institute ORGraduate degree in applied behavioral analysis (ABA) from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation ORMinimum of one (1) year of full-time experience in providing mental health direct services to children, youth or young adults and a graduate degree in psychology, social work, education, or counseling from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation ORCompleted a clinical or mental health direct service practicum and have a graduate degree in psychology, social work, education, counseling or a r lated field from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation OREquivalent degree from a foreign college or university that has been evaluated by the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. or the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services. The Department will accept a general equivalency report from the listed evaluator agencies to verify a foreign degree or its equivalency ORLicense in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a psychologist, professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, clinical social worker, social worker, behavior specialist, certified registered nurse practitioner ORBe a professional with a scope of practice that includes overseeing the provision of ABA services (for programs delivering ABA services)Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a teamAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and manage and prioritize multiple, often competing, prioritiesDemonstrated strong attention to detailDemonstrated strong time management and organizational skillsDemonstrated excellent judgment with the ability to independently solve problems and make decisions with little or no need for direct supervisionDemonstrated ability to anticipate future needed changes or identify problem areas and take effective actionsMust be able to perform CPR and restrictive procedures and manual restraints using agency-trained protocolsMust possess excellent customer interaction, collaboration, presentation, and written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated basic experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook; Publisher experience preferredMust have current, valid driver's license in state of residence, three (3) years driving experience in the United States, and acceptable driving recordPHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENTAL PROFILE: See Physical Demands Checklist below which represents the general physical demands and environment conditions to which the employee holding this position must meet, in addition to the duties and responsibilities listed above, to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
