DescriptionMilliman's Medicaid Finance and Policy Practice is seeking a Healthcare Business Development Consultant to join our team. This individual will be an integral part of growing the practice and working across Milliman to support related business development.About Our PracticeMilliman's Medicaid Finance and Policy Practice serves state Medicaid agencies and a wide variety of organizations significantly impacted by Medicaid reimbursement and funding, including hospital associations, and safety net hospital systems. The practice is affiliated with the broader Milliman Medicaid Consulting Group consisting of 200+ professionals, including actuaries, healthcare consultants, attorneys, and statisticians.ResponsibilitiesSupporting practice business development and other practice operations, including:Managing practice sales cycle, including supporting identification and monitoring of sales opportunities and state procurement activities, and navigating complex state procurement systems and rulesLeading the development of proposals, bids, quotations, Request for Proposals (RFP) and Request for Information (RFI) responses, and other written/oral communications describing products and services in response to requests from prospective and current clientsManaging thought leadership activities, including development of white papers and supporting conference speaking opportunitiesManaging relationships with business partners and sub-contractorsRecruiting and onboardingPlanning and coordinating staffingSupporting performance managementSupporting cross practice business development, including shared content/knowledge management, conference planning and execution, and development of specific proposalsProfessional QualificationsBachelor's Degree or higher in Marketing or related field10+ years healthcare experience including knowledge of Medicaid and other public sector healthcare program10+ years experience developing and managing professional services proposals related to Medicaid and other public sector healthcare programs10+ years experience supporting professional services sales cycle for Medicaid and other public sector healthcare programs, including managing proposal development, internal and external knowledge-sharing and thought leadership activities, and content managementExperience managing teams and leading employee development and engagement activitiesPersonal QualificationsActive listener with exceptional oral and written communication skillsExpertise with MS PowerPoint and Word; proficiency with MS ExcelDetail oriented, with strong attention to detail in grammar, design, development, and strategic mindsetExceptional marketing, networking, and communication skillsAbility to portray a professional image consistent with Milliman's role as a consultant with phone calls, e-mails, and other correspondenceAbility to work independently within a team-based consulting environmentAbility to manage multiple projects with strong organizational skillsWillingness to learn new skills and offer inputTo be considered for this position, please upload a resume and cover letter.No recruiters, please.LocationThis position is based out of the Milliman offices in Seattle, Indianapolis, Chicago, or Milwaukee.
