Professionals receiving a doctoral degree in psychology should be capable of extending psychological knowledge and exhibiting the high level of analytic skills and theoretical understanding needed to use existing and emerging psychological knowledge.
Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Behavior Analyst (Outreach) for the Douglass Developmental Disabilities Center (DDDC). The position reports to the Associate Director of Consultation and Communications and ensures best-practice applied behavior analysis procedures are maintained and applied in the education and treatment of children and adults in community settings.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Supervises and monitors the services and programs related to the education of children and adults with autism and their families within an assigned caseload through the DDDC's Outreach unit.
  • Clinical oversight of assigned consultation caseload.
  • Provides program recommendations, conducts skill-based based assessments and functional behavior assessments in assigned community-based settings.
  • Reviews data of learners receiving services on assigned caseloads.
  • Conducts data-based observations to identify appropriate recommendations for staff and students on assigned caseload.
  • Supports the community agency with curriculum development and classroom management.
  • Provides individual, small, and large group training related to applied behavior analysis for staff on assigned caseload.
  • Attends meetings with treatment teams and school district personnel as required.

  Qualifications

  

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Graduate degree in Education, Psychology, Behavior Analysis, Speech or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience using the principles of applied behavior analysis in the treatment of autism spectrum disorder.
Certifications/Licenses
  • Board Certification in Behavior Analysis
  • A valid driver's license is required
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Must have experience training and supervising other staff in the delivery of behavior analytic services.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Specific training in functional analysis, treatment analysis, single case design, and preference assessments is preferred.
Equipment Utilized
  • Fluent with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Employee must be physically active.
  • Duties may involve running and playing active games with individuals from 2 - 21 years of age. Following training, must be physically capable of safely providing crisis management techniques including restraining, lifting, blocking individuals with challenging behavior.
