　　The Manufacturing Engineer Intern for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for determining the optimal manufacturing methods and processes for producing company products from start-up to building the product line through satisfactory production.

　　This position is an integral part of our hardware manufacturing engineering team located in Chaska, MN, and will be an onsite role. Within our team, we strive to deliver high-quality products on time, using our Danaher Business tools to solve problems and consistently improve our processes. 　　Summer Internship Program

　　The program is a 12-week paid internship immersive experience that provides functional learning working on robust and challenging project work, Executive and Senior leadership engagement, and exposure to Danaher Business System fundamentals. The program culminates with a report-out presentation to leaders from the organization. After successful completion of the program, interns will have the opportunity to return as a full-time associate upon graduation.

　　This position is part of the Instruments Technical Operations Department located in Chaska, Minnesota and will be on-site. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

　　You will be a part of the manufacturing engineering team and report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager responsible for quality and manufacturing process support. If you thrive in a collaborative role and want to work to build a world-class manufacturing organization—read on.

　　In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

　　Make continuous improvements and develop manufacturing process solutions that improve quality, delivery, and cost to customers by minimizing downtime and rework due to quality and/or obsolescence issues

　　Solve technical issues by identifying root cause(s) and identifying both short-term and long-term countermeasures

　　Designs and develops poka-yoke methods/fixtures within manufacturing process to improve quality and delivery

　　Creates action plans that are used to ensure on-time completion of projects

　　Support change order implementation actions (updating manufacturing work instructions, executing process validation/qualification, and training direct labor associates)

　　Ensures company, industry, and regulatory standards are met

　　The essential requirements of the job include:

　　Completed Sophomore or Junior years of study in undergraduate engineering program (mechanical, electrical, chemical, biomedical, industrial, or equivalent)

　　Demonstrated strong interpersonal and leadership skills

　　It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

　　3D Printing or Engineering Design

　　Lean Manufacturing
