The Department of Human Service Programs (DHSP) creates and coordinatesservices that enhance the quality of life for Cambridge residents.Driven by the needs of residents, DHSP?s extensive services and programstouch almost every sector in the city: from newborns to senior citizens,from school-aged children to homeless families, from non-profitorganizations to local employers. About Baby University: Baby University(Baby U) is an intensive family support program of the Center forFamilies. It serves Cambridge families with at least one child under theage of 4, with a priority given to families living in public orsubsidized housing. Through a strength based, racial equity lens Baby Usupports families by providing evidence-based parent education, accessto local resources and supports, and opportunities to develop community.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Full participation in theDepartment of Human Service Programs? mission to eliminate racism withinour department. Facilitate with Baby U Program Coordinator and otherstaff, 14 parent education workshops and playgroups (Saturday morningscurrently January - May) during the Core Program. Conduct home visits tofamilies enrolled in the program and carry a small caseload of families.Provide regular clinical, reflective supervision and other support toBaby U staff. Support Baby U staff in documenting visits, phone callsand any relevant clinical information. Alongside Baby U ProgramCoordinator, develop a weekly staff meeting agenda and co-facilitate themeeting. Outreach, interview, onboard and supervise a masters-levelsocial work intern from an accredited graduate program. Review anddevelop curriculum for all parent education workshops and playgroupsensuring content creates space for parent reflection, is accessible fordifferent literacy levels, and is culturally relevant. Support otherfacilitators to deliver content. Alongside Baby U Program Coordinator,order and organize materials for Baby U Core Program, includingdevelopmentally-appropriate books, toys, and classroom supplies. Incollaboration with the Center for Families Program Manager and Baby UProgram Coordinator, prepare annual program calendar that includes oneCore Program and Baby U Alumni Association events: support groups,workshops, field trips, and community building events. Continueinitiatives already in place for Baby U families, including holidaysupport and back-to-school resources. Oversee childcare implementationand staffing. Identify, interview, and hire childcare workers for CoreProgram and Alumni Association events. Train and supervise childcareworkers during Core Program. Ensure there are adequate resources toprovide safe and appropriate care for the number of children enrolled inchildcare. Work with families and the Childcare Coordinator to resolveany challenges. With Baby U Program Coordinator and Baby U staff, createand implement recruitment plan for Baby U core program. Develop andfacilitate professional development for Baby U and Center for Familiesstaff. Provide consultation to Center for Families staff regardingfamilies served and provide support directly to the Center?s families asneeded. Collaborate with City of Cambridge/partner organizations toensure a continuum of support and services for Baby U families andstaff. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Master\'s Degree Social Work; LCSWrequired, LICSW preferred. Experience with group facilitation andcurriculum development. Experience working in human service andcommunity mental health. Excellent oral and written communicationskills. Good computer/technology skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Zoomand Microsoft Teams. Minimum of three years\' experience working withdiverse populations of young children and families.
