Job Description: The SQAE will be part of the Wealth Management technology team in support of our brokerage and managed accounts. The Lead SQAE will provide input as to the growing needs and structure of the QA skillset within the team. The SQAE also defines, creates, executes and documents the tests necessary to ensure that application and technical environment meets performance requirements (technical and functional) and free from defects. The Lead SQAE ensures that quality standards are met and adhered to by using their knowledge and quality assurance methods, tools and techniques. The Lead SQAE will resolve, document, and report to management quality problems that arise. The Lead Software Quality Assurance Engineer defines, engineers and executes the quality assurance of mid-large scale technology solutions. Software Quality Assurance Engineers (SQAE) are responsible for defining, implementing and continuously improving policies, processes and procedures that deliver products and services of the highest level of quality and reliability for the business and customers. Key Responsibilities: Direct and mentor others in automated testing Define and develop automated testing scripts for complex environments Lead and understand how complex technical requirements lead to test cases and be able to write a positive and negative technical test case Lead and understand how complex business requirements lead to test cases and be able to write a positive and negative test case Ability to write test cases under the direction of others Design, implement and review Test plans and Test Cases Review and understand documentation related to projects assigned and provide test estimates. Gather and publish all estimates in a concise and trackable format Lead, plan, coordinate and/or participates all aspects of testing, including automation, Smoke / Sanity Test, Functional Test, Integration Test and Regression Test and post implementation test as appropriate for continuous delivery Lead and manage defect life cycle in appropriate defect tracking tools and proactively identify risks to management Provides, evaluates and manages the test status Plans, defines and prepares test data to support deliverables Educate project teams on testing methodologies and needed Required Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science, business, mathematics or related field 5+ years of applicable experience Strong organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills Technical writing Highly experienced with Test automation and frame work Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills Demonstrated leadership on mid-large-scale projects impacting strategic priorities Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) framework In-depth knowledge of systems design, architecting and implementing large business systems Ability to train others (less experienced) on both methodologies and technologies Preferred Experience: Java ETL Complex Data Sets and Back-End Data Movement In addition to the tech stack details attached I wanted to add additional items I am hoping for in this role that would make an ideal candidate: Ability to set direction for overall testing strategy (currently immature in QA) Create Test Cases back end data integrations (ETL, Java, SFTP, Zena) Automated Testing We upport brokerage and managed accounts so financial background is a plus (Fidelity experience would be ideal) A backend java data engineer with a passion and skills for QA Must-Have: Testing Automation Experience (5+ Years): Preferred Tool Experience Playwright QMetry Cyprus Performance Testing Tool Experience Testing Automation Experience Java Core Knowledge (4+ years experience minimum): Java 7 & 8 Annotations Generics Enums Lambda expressions Stream API Spring Platform Knowledge Spring MVC Design Controller Design JSON Request/Response Design Spring Batch Design Spring Boot Design Spring Data JPA Design Spring Integration Design Ideal Candidate will also have Higher Priority Message Queue Experience (RabbitMQ, IBM MQ, etc.) Ideal Kafka and RabbitMQ SFTP and FTP experience REST API Lead Experience (IT Lead and mentorship) Database Design and Development MongoDB, SQL Server, Oracle DB2 Knowledge RedHat OpenShift Lower Priority Zena Camunda Atlassian Toolset Experience (Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Jira) Event Driven Architecture and Integration Design ETL Experience Methodology Knowledge Waterfall Iterative Agile (Scrum) Compensation: Hourly W2 pay rate $70-$88 We have access to additional contract, contract-to-hire, and direct hire positions with various rate ranges.
