Description

　　Robert Half's Legal Division is immediately seeking a PRIVACY COUNSEL for one of our In-House clients in the Chicago Loop. The ideal candidate would be able to work a flexible, hybrid schedule and have 2-4 years of experience.

　　Duties of this position include but are not limited to:

　　Data Privacy Responsibilities:

　　· Advise on and ensure company compliance with privacy laws and regulations domestically and internationally.

　　· Draft and update privacy policies, guidelines, and practices.

　　· Provide legal analysis related to privacy, data protection, and information security issues.

　　· Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to conduct privacy impact assessments.

　　· Counsel stakeholders and senior leadership on matters related to data privacy and protection.

　　· Respond to privacy incidents and breaches, including providing guidance on notification and reporting requirements.

　　· Build and deliver privacy training and awareness programs to internal stakeholders.

　　· Maintain current knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory changes in privacy law and anticipate possible impacts on the company.

　　· Interface with data protection authorities as needed.

　　General Transactional Responsibilities:

　　· Assist with contract drafting, analysis, editing and management (Domestic and International).

　　· Spearhead development and implementation of corporate compliance policies.

　　· Daily Legal and Business Counseling and General Corporate assistance across the business

　　· Assist in managing all legal matters in the areas of mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and development including participating in all related drafting, due diligence review, document and data room organization, outside counsel management and all other transaction management matters.

　　· Analyze legal risks and balance said risks with the Company’s business interests.

　　Requirements

　　Qualifications:

　　· Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

　　· Licensed to practice law.

　　· 2-4 years of experience in privacy law, preferably in-house at a technology company.

　　· Proven knowledge of domestic and international data protection laws, such as GDPR and CCPA.

　　· Excellent analytical, communication and negotiation skills.

　　· Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks concurrently and meet deadlines.

　　· Ideally holding a relevant certification such as CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, or CIPT.

　　· Experience with privacy by design and privacy impact assessments.
