The associate/assistant principal must have the following qualifications:
A masters degree or higher from an accredited institution, with a major concentration of work in educational administration;The necessary licensure requirements as required by the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners; andSufficient educational background and experience to merit recommendation by the principal and school boardAssociate/assistant principals will perform all the duties and activities as designated by the building principal and subject to the policies of the school board, the Code of Iowa, and federal law.
Central office administration and the building principal shall review the functions of the associate/assistant principal on an annual basis.
Job Description:
Assists in the planning, development, organization, coordination, and supervision of school programs and activities.
Assists in providing leadership to certified and classified staff in determining objectives and identifying school needs for the development of long and short range plans for the school.
A practicing Roman Catholic (Catholic) in good standing who leads by example and
demonstrates commitment to gospel values through his or her words and actions.
Carries out hiring, supervision, and evaluation of classified staff.
Assists the principal in the overall administration of the school and assumes leadership of the school in the absence of the principal.
Assists in the supervision of student enrollment, records, attendance, and health/nutrition requirements.
Is responsible for carrying out a positive and effective discipline policy.
Works with the guidance department to implement SEL/behavior supports and plans as needed.
Supervises the reporting and monitoring of student attendance, with follow-up student/parent
