Position Summary
The Associate Teacher will assist in the development and implementation of theclassroom environment in the facilitation of the cognitive,social-emotional, physical, language, and communication development ofthe children within the program. The incumbent will support the development ofa classroom plan for curriculum, individual child planning, and familycommunication. It is the duty of the Associate Teacher to work incollaboration with fellow teachers and administrative staff to carry out allresponsibilities to the best of their ability and exercise their bestjudgement as they execute their duties.
With updates to processes at the University of Denver this position will nolonger require reapplication on a yearly basis by current employees alreadyholding the role. Employment can be renewed yearly, but no longer requiresthe employee to reapply for the position unless otherwise told so.
Essential Functions
Curriculum & Planning
Assist in the development and implementation of curriculum aligned withFisher's approach to early childhood education and specifically identifiedcurricula resources.Apply content from Fisher sponsored trainings and resources available on theR Drive to support implementation of curricula.Demonstrate knowledge of content and developmental areas by creatingexperiences that engage children in purposeful and meaningful learning relatedto key curriculum concepts.Inform curriculum and planning through use of the child assessment processand data.Documentation & Assessment

Associate's degree or equivalent credits in ECE, Elementary Education,Special Education, Family and Child Development or Child Psychology.
1 or more years of experience working with children.Willingness to work with children in an inclusive environment.Must be able to push, pull, or lift 50 lbs.Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in ECE or related field.
2 or more years of classroom experience in a NAEYC accredited earlychildhood group setting.Knowledge and experience working with children who have special needs.Working Environment

Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period.
Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capabilityof transporting objects up to 20 lbs.Work ScheduleApproximately 8 hours/day, Monday - Friday, between he hours of7:45am-5:15pm. Evening and weekends as required.
