KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Expands the clinical nursing scope, fostering a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care in which collaboration is valued and excellence in nursing care and education is promoted and achieved.
Oversees and develops priorities for clinical nursing leadership including assignments, coaching, hiring, training, and corrective action.
Responsible for clinical education, simulations, and training in collaboration with others to ensure compliance with applicable standards, evidence-based practice and advancements in nursing.
Works closely with the Quality Improvement team and engages in quality assurance and improvement measurement, analysis, and performance improvement activities.
Collaborates with operations department leadership and Health Center leadership, identifying and addressing concerns requiring resolution.
Collaborates with operations and pharmacy leadership to develop systems for pharmacy inventory, supply ordering, and durable medical equipment needs in the clinic.
Coordinates and oversees clinical projects, programs, grants, and others as assigned.
Develops, enforces, and maintains standards of care, policies, procedures, workflows, and clinical guidelines in accordance with organizational, regulatory, state and federal policies and regulations.
Accomplishes organizational goals by taking on new and different requests as they fall within this job description; explores opportunities to add value to the position.
Leads, plans, coordinates, and/or attends assigned meetings, health fairs, events, and trainings.
Collaborates with leadership to develop strategies that promote the recruitment, retention, and recognition of excellence in clinical nursing.
Acts as a change agent, leader, and role model for the clinical nursing team with the goal of having nurses work at the top of their licensure.
Collaborates to develop and define partnerships for clinical training opportunities; precepts nursing students and/or provides mentorship to staff who precept nursing students.
Ensures that the activities and clinical nursing documentation adheres to nursing standards, policies, licensing, and regulatory requirements within expected timeframes.
Provides quality customer service and communicates in a HIPAA compliant, culturally sensitive, and trauma-informed manner.
Two days of clinical care per week required for this position and may require travel between CCI sites to provide coverage as needed.
Performs other duties responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Nursing or designee.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Active RN license issued by the State of Maryland Board of Nursing or any state under the Nurse License Compact.
Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience including people management and progressive leadership experience.
Current BLS/CPR certification required.
Excellent written, verbal, telephone, and interpersonal communication skills with experience documenting in an Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Specific knowledge of eClinicalWorks (eCW) is a plus.
Care management/coordination and/or quality improvement experience a plus.
Experience in a community health center or FQHC a plus.
Written and oral fluency in English.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Working on site is an essential duty for the job.
This position may require travel between CCI sites as needed.
Work under stressful conditions within a controlled, enclosed environment daily. Work environment may involve exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment.
