Job Description

Are you passionate about maintaining a clean, well-kept and organized environment?

We are seeking a hard-working, motivated, upbeat teammate with excellent communication skills to join the Environmental Services team as a Sanitation Associate at our Main Campus - 1275 York Ave. at Memorial Sloan Kettering. We will provide you with an introduction to all areas of hospitality and retail service.

Role Overview:

Perform sanitation duties (e.g., cleaning, mopping, dish washing, pot washing and other related duties) within the various locations of the Food and Nutrition Services department.

Ensure all equipment and supplies are operational and available at workstation.

Clean, sanitize and store pots/pans, dishes and silverware; clean and sanitize all equipment (e.g. kettle, ovens, mixers, refrigerators).

Sweep, mop and clean assigned areas.

Ensure supply of dishes and utensils throughout the Main Kitchen and Retail areas.

Collect and dispose of garbage and other trash recycling collections.

Core Skills:

Ability to read, write and understand basic instructions.

Ability to stand for the duration of shift. Ability to push, pull and lift heavy items weight up to 50 lbs.

One year of dishwasher or porter experience in restaurant, hospital, school etc. including cleaning of kitchen appliances/utensils etc. strongly preferred.
