Position Announcement
Eastern Illinois University invites applications for a full-time,12-month, Associate Dean in the College of Health and Human Services tobegin July 1, 2024 (academic rank to be determined based onqualifications, which may be tenure-track or tenured faculty member).Under the direction of the Dean of the College of Health and Humanservices, the associate dean serves to advance and support theCollege\'s mission. The College has six academic units, including PublicHealth and Nutrition, Human Services, the Gail and Richard LumpkinSchool of Nursing, Communication Disorders and Sciences, MilitaryScience, and Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation with 60 full-timefaculty members. The College has an extensive range of externalcommunity outreach programs including and an Adult Fitness Program, theChild and Family Life Education Center, Child Care Resource andReferral, a Speech, Language and Hearing Clinic, and an Autism Centerthat serves the university community.
Primary Responsibilities:Work in partnership with the college dean to advance college anduniversity mission
Provide college leadership on curriculum management
Promote diversity, equity, and inclusive excellence among faculty,staff, and students in the college
Facilitate communications among departments in the college anduniversity
Share commitment to faculty governance
Experience working and leading in collective bargaining workenvironments
Implement college assessment activities
Assist the dean in managing college financial resources
Collaborate with college staff to fulfill mission and duties
Support student recruitment, retention and marketing within the college
Teach one course per semester
Qualifications: Required qualifications include a doctorate in anacademic discipline represented within the College, three years ofleadership experience as either graduate coordinator, department chair,or other related university administrative role(s), excellent written ororal communication skills, and evidence of achievement in teaching,research, and service, and experience leading and working in anegotiated environment.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusive excellence isrequired.
