Amazon's Legal Department is looking for a talented commercial real estate lawyer to fill the position of Associate Corporate Counsel – Data Center Leasing and Colocation supporting Amazon Web Services (AWS), a dynamic and rapidly growing business within Amazon.com. AWS is at the forefront of the cloud computing and service industry, providing IT infrastructure services such as on-demand compute capacity, storage, content delivery, database, machine learning, and more.
As part of the AWS colocation legal team, you will be responsible for supporting AWS's worldwide data center expansion through colocation services agreements. You will have transactional drafting and negotiating responsibilities on deals, and will provide legal counsel and contract interpretation to business team members on a daily basis. Transactions range from standard contracts to complex, bespoke, high-value agreements. You will structure, draft and negotiate agreements, help support AWS’s existing data center portfolio, manage outside counsel, and advise internal business clients. In addition, you will help develop, implement, and manage process improvements across the team, resolve legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships, and handle pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries.

Basic Qualifications
• J.D. degree (or equivalent) and membership in good standing in at least one state bar
• 2+ full years of legal experience as a practicing attorney
• Experience drafting and negotiating a variety of real estate and commercial transactional documents (e.g., leases, lease amendments, purchase and sale agreements, easements, operating agreements, license agreements, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
4+ full years of legal experience as a transactional real estate attorney (with 3+ full years at a law firm)
Efficient organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through, and meet deadlines using pragmatic judgment
Ability to work independently and proactively, while also collaborating effectively with other legal team members and global business teams
Creative analytical skills
Effective written and oral communication skills, and an ability to clearly and simply summarize complex ideas

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $105,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $195,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
