About Associate Claims Adjuster (Trainee)

  Claims Adjuster Trainees handle entry-level insurance claims under close supervision through the life-cycle of a claim including but not limited to: investigation, evaluation and claim resolution. The purpose of this position is to provide service to agents, insureds and others to ensure claims resolve accurately and timely.

  Claims Adjuster Trainees are enrolled in a structured training program that is designed to promote professional development and advancement within our company through extensive hands-on training, as well as educational resources to gain a strong foundation of industry knowledge. Successful Claims Adjusters will excel in this role and be prepared for future roles within Concord Group Insurance.

  Responsibilities

  Investigate, evaluate, and settle entry-level insurance claims

  Study insurance policies, endorsements, and forms to develop foundational product knowledge

  Learn and comply with Company claim handling procedures

  Develop claim negotiation and settlement skills

  Meet and communicate with claimants, legal counsel, and third parties

  Develop specialized skills including but, not limited to estimating and use of designated computer-based programs for loss adjustment

  Requirements

  Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent industry exposure/experience

  Ability to succeed with key training milestones

  Apply basic problem resolution skills and effective interpersonal skills

  Read, interpret, and respond to documents such as insurance policies, procedure manuals, and legal documents at a foundational level

  Accurately solve mathematical problems, including basic geometry (area and volume) and financial statements (such as accuracy in sums and unit costs)
