As an Associate Chaplain, you will assess and plan for the individualspiritual care needs and resources of staff, patients, residents, andtheir families .
Your experience.
We hire people, not resumes. But we also expect excellence, which is whywe prefer to hire someone with One (1) year experience as a Chaplain in ahospital setting is preferred. One unit of Clinical Pastoral Education(CPE) by Association of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) accreditedcenters completed within two (2) years of hire is required. Letter ofRecommendation of suitability by senior administrative leader of religioustradition (Parish, Synagogue, Conference, Elder Board, etc.) is required.

The essential duties and responsibilities of an Associate Chaplain consistsof:
Initiates pastoral visits and responds to referrals to visit patientsand/or their families. 2. Conducts assessment of spiritual needs ofpatients, residents, family members, physicians, associates andvolunteers. 3. Assists patients and families with advance directives andend-of-life resources. Provides resources for transition, bereavement andloss. 4. Participates in multidisciplinary patient rounds, care conferencesethics consultations and documents, as appropriate, in patients'electronic medical record. 5. Responds to crisis situations (e.g. CodeBlue, trauma, death) to provide spiritual care and support. 6. Promotesmission, vision, and values of SCL Health, and abides by servicebehavior standards. 7. Participates as a member of the spiritual care on-callteam. 8. Performs other duties as assigned.REQUIRED EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor's degree is preferred.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION, LICENCE, REGISTRATION:

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, documents,monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customerneeds. Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers,patients/clients, and visitors that require employee to verballycommunicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, andissues quickly and accurately. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers tomanipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. Thisincludes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information,etc. Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on acomputer, telephone, or other equipment.
