Associate Director - WAN Solution Architect (Prague or India), Novartis, Prague, Czech Republic

As an Architect for our WAN solutions, you will be responsible for ensuring that the Novartis strategy to strive to Operational Excellence, achieves its goals through a proper architecture of its technology landscape. An efficient and effective technology landscape is essential to support our business processes within Corporate Functions. With a diverse customer group, the role will involve assessing, implementing, and integrating a mixture of enterprise standard solutions
Your key responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Understand and translate enterprise needs into implementable technology solutions to enable long-term success
• Developing and maintaining WAN roadmaps and strategy, working with various other domain architects to align technology and service roadmaps
• Driving new technology/product/solution evaluations, providing leadership in the identification of specific technology standards for WAN services
• Wearing the 'engineering' hat regularly, driving product/solution Proof of Concept with other Network architects/engineers
• Identifying and leading your team to develop new WAN design patterns and participating on our WAN Technical Design Authority. Communicate and explain selected aspects of the solution architecture to appropriate stakeholder groups
• Being our expert on WAN Infrastructure platform security topics and identifying major security related deficiencies, then designing pragmatic approaches on how to remediate them at scale
• Reports on WAN posture status across company periodically and is responsible for maintaining a clear risk acceptance/remediation level
• Leverage architecture standards, architecture patterns, reference architectures, and other referential means to elaborate the most adequate solution architecture meeting functional and non-functional requirements. Validate solution architectures regarding their adequacy and adherence to architecture standards throughout the solution lifecycle

Role Requirements
• 8+ years of relevant professional IT experience in the related functional area, with a solid understanding of IT infrastructure technology, systems and management processes in a regulated industry
• Bachelor of Science degree in information technology, computer science or related field
• 4+ years of experience as an Enterprise WAN Architect. Experience with change management through process engineering and/or participating in large-scale IT change / transformation programs dealing with WAN technologies like MPLS, VPN, SDWAN and Cloud Connectivity
• Experience of sourcing complex IT services, working closely with vendors and making full use of their abilities
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain successful relationships with senior leaders from risk or non-risk/IT or non-IT backgrounds and ability to successfully manage projects involving multi-functional teams in a matrixed environment
