　　Responsibilities

　　An Associate Director, Clinical Data Science (1) directs, leads, and manages a Clinical Data Science chapter, (2) is responsible for the development, refinement, and effective and efficient deployment of strategically relevant functional capabilities including people, knowledge, and skills, thereby contributing to the ability of the organization of successful cross-functional development and delivery of products in clinical development. 3)may contribute to development team value creation

　　-Leads a chapter of up to 15 functional professionals of mixed seniority (up to a principal level). This includes, on a continuous basis, investing in the members of the chapter through (1) developing knowledge and skills of the members of the chapter, (2) development, supporting and encouraging a learning culture, (3) promoting BI/BDS principles, and (4) transforming BDS’ working environment into an Agile and Digital state-of- the-art workplace.

　　-Being a member of the functional leadership team, supports the BDS Global Functional Head in the strategic leadership of the function. This includes ensuring functional quality and compliance of deliverables, the definition and development of functional standards, and effective and efficient deployment of functional resources.

　　-Together with Agile Coaches and other Capability Managers, removing organizational impediments of fundamental and conceptual importance.

　　-Acts as a Product Owner for complex and initially partially defined and strategically relevant functional and/or cross-functional topics and initiatives regarding BI's ability to develop valuable products, thereby contributing the strategy of BDS and contributing to the strategy of other functions and units with regards to these aspects.

　　-In close collaboration with BDS leadership teams, contributes to a mature BDS resource and strategic workforce planning and deployment. This includes the assessment of capability needs and the deployment of the members of the chapter through assignment of appropriate roles.

　　Requirements

　　-MSc in a clinical development related field or comparable qualification.

　　-Understanding of the contribution of the BDS function in the larger context of clinical development.

　　-Understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and development of drugs.

　　-Business acumen and industry trends in clinical development.

　　-Project-management, communication, presentation, networking, and negotiation skills, and mindfulness of local, global, internal, and external cultures to ensure that messages are received positively and effectively.

　　-'Agile' and 'Lean' values, principles, and practices

　　-Ability to act as a Product Owner including making intent clear and empowering teams

　　-Team work including timely decision making and results/measurement orientation.

　　-Ability to manage and cultivate change.
