Requires the following (or equivalent qualifications):
Certificate of good health.Possession of personal and moral habits which will not be detrimental to the best interest of the safety and welfare of the students.Valid Iowa coaching certificate.Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.May be asked to submit a National Criminal Record Check before starting employment with the district.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Notify parents, students and administration of rules regulations in your sport. This shall be in written form and presented a minimum of five (5) days prior to practice. Parents shall sign and send back to the head coach a letter stating that they have received and read the rules and regulations that govern the squad(s).
Conduct at least one meeting prior to the beginning of each season. All coaches at all levels shall be in attendance. The basic purposes of these meetings shall be the teaching of fundamentals and drills to use and create better communications between the varsity and junior high athletic programs.
Shall have a pre-season meeting with athletes to cover all facts of their sport.
Notify all eligible athletes as to date of receiving equipment and dates and times of practice sessions.
Begin practices on the earliest date allowed by the regulations of the IHSAA and IGHSAU or the Dunkerton Community School District.
Begin and end practices at the same date and time as the head coach.
Be in attendance at all meetings called by the head coach.
Accept delegated responsibilities, duties and authority from head coach within reason.
