Candidates will have a PhD, MD/DO, or equivalent degree, with a record of training in rehabilitation science, neuromodulation, and advanced neuroimaging techniques. Applicants must qualify for the . Candidates must exhibit evidence of exceptional potential for independent research and will be expected to establish an innovative and collaborative research program within the University, Medical School, and the department's Rehabilitation Medicine Translational Research Lab. Ideal candidates will have experience in neuromodulation and advanced neuroimaging technique research , experience with sensory processing and its relationship with motor development in children with perinatal stroke, and are motivated to grow their knowledge base. Successful candidates will have experience in basic, clinical, or translational research. They should have a record of presenting research results through publications and presentations. Duties/Job Responsibilities: * Conduct neuroplasticity research * Collaborate on team science projects considered high priority by the Department * Support training activities of junior faculty and other trainees * Originate research ideas * Obtain research funding through grant proposals (e.g. NIH funding) * Collect and analyze data * Write manuscripts for publications * Supervise undergraduate/graduate students, medical residents/fellows, junior scientists, and postdocs working on related research projects Qualifications Required Qualifications: * PhD, MD/DO, or equivalent terminal degree in rehabilitation science, neuroscience, biological sciences, biochemistry, molecular biology, or related science field * Experience in advanced neuroimaging and neuromodulation research and techniques * Meet the qualifications of the CTSI/Medical School Early Career Research Award * Strong record of presenting research results through publications and conference abstracts * Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work collaboratively with diverse audiences Preferred Qualificaitons: * Postdoctoral training in advance neuroimaging * Experience with sensory processing and its relationship with motor development in children with perinatal stroke * Expertise with grant writing About the Department As a member of a multidisciplinary team, the candidate will join growing academic medicine department.
