Southeastern Oklahoma State University invites applications for a tenuretrack Assistant Professor of Music History position. The instructor willbe responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in musichistory and other courses as assigned by the Chair of the Department ofMusic.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduatecourses in music history, general education courses for non-musicmajors, and advising. This position also requires service ondepartmental and university committees, scholarship in the field ofmusic, attendance at faculty meetings, occasional night and weekendobligations, and other duties as assigned by the Chair of the Departmentof Music.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED: ABD (PhD or DMA) with completion before the start ofappointment (must provide date in C.V.) and 2 years of college teachingexperience (graduate teaching assistant experience may count toward thisrequirement).
PREFERRED: Completed Doctor of Philosophy in Musicology/Music Historywith 3 or more years of college teaching experience (graduate teachingassistant experience may count toward this requirement) and experienceteaching online courses. Preference will be given to candidates who haveexperience working at a regional institution with varying socio-economicand education backgrounds. Additionally, preference will be given tocandidates who are prepared to invest in the specific goals and missionunique to the Department of Music and Southeastern Oklahoma StateUniversity.
