Responsibilities Major Duties of the Position: Teaches undergraduate courses in military strategy and/or international security. Provides well-organized instruction to facilitate, assess, and continuously improve cadet learning. Conducts research in the field which contributes to the body of knowledge. Pursues personal professional development and engages in scholarly and professional activities to maintain academic currency as well as advance the discipline, the department, and the US Air Force Academy. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Earned doctorate in relevant academic discipline listed below. Record of scholarly publications and academic service to the discipline and/or institution. At least one year of part-time teaching or instruction. ACADEMIC DISCIPLINES: Strategic Studies, Security Studies, National Security Studies, Military Studies, International/Global Studies, Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, Foreign Policy, Airpower Studies, Cyber Warfare, Space Studies, or similar. Explain how your degree relates to military strategy and international security. Highly recommend attaching unofficial copies of all transcripts for graduate education. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Evidence of teaching excellence or advanced pedagogical skills; at least two semesters as an independent instructor. Peer-reviewed research, academic concentrations, certificates, and/or professional experience related to future conflict, wargame design, use of simulations in the classroom, and/or military innovation; provide supporting evidence such as graduate school unofficial transcripts or hyperlinks to relevant research articles.
