Cornell Health's more than 200 employeescollaborate to provide integrated and culturally-sensitive mental health, medical, health promotion, public health, student accommodations, and occupational medicine care and services. Cornell Health's Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) offers confidential counseling services, designed to help students with mental health concerns that may be affecting their quality of life and ability to learn. Our providers include psychologists, social workers, and mental health counselors from diverse cultural and clinical backgrounds. CAPS providers value students in all of their individuality, and are committed to welcoming all people with respect and sensitivity. Our providers regularly collaborate with Cornell Health's diverse array of healthcare providers as an integrated service that support both the mind and the body.

  The Assistant Director of Counseling & Psychological Services - Training provides organizational leadership in university mental health initiatives in collaboration with the Director and other members of the CAPS leadership team. Specifically, this position oversees all aspects of the training program that integrates trainees and post-docs/masters professional into the service model, contributing to the learning and development of these professionals as they begin their counseling careers. In addition, the Assistant Director guides the vision for on-going staff development, supervises a team of Counselor Therapist staff, and provides direct clinical services.

  Required Qualifications:

  Masters in social work with "C" or "R" designation (LCSW or LCSW-R) or Doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology (PhD or PsyD) and a minimum of 5 years of work-related experience.Licensed or licensed eligible in New York State within one year of the initial hire date.Experience supervising, managing, and leading a diverse clinical team as well as supervising the clinical work of others.Exceptional experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and wellbeing.Proven experience connecting diversity, inclusion, and wellbeing practices to business goals.

  Preferred Qualifications:

  3-5 years of experience practicing after the receipt of doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) from an American Psychological Association (APA)-accredited doctoral program in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.Candidates who completed supervised doctoral internship accredited by the APA with a minimum of 2000 hours.Knowledge of current training standards for mental health licensure across disciplines.Knowledge and experience working with mental health trainee development and supervision.Experiencing setting and measuring program outcomes.Experience using electronic health record management systems.Proficiency in a language in addition to English desirable.
