  Position Description:The Office for Finance and Administration in the Office of the President and Provost seeks to add a dynamic and experienced Manager/Assistant Director to its Finance and Administration team to support the University leadership priorities and the work of all units in the OPP portfolio which includes CADM units, as well as interfaculty initiatives and other large organizations that provide University-wide services such as the Art Museums, the Library, the Press, and the American Repertory Theater to name a few. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with a variety of stakeholders, disciplines, and organizations with unique roles at the University.

  The Assistant Director of Budgets and Financial Analysis, under general direction from the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, analyzes and evaluates quarterly results, operating budgets, and multi-year financial plans and is responsible for compliance and risk management functions for a portfolio of OPP Units.

  Serves as lead advisor to Unit heads, managers and their staff on a day-to-day basis. Provides special analyses, actionable recommendations, and multi-year financial plans as needed. Manages financial inquiries and data requests

  Leads the annual budget process, including development and/or improvement of effective data gathering procedures and working materials

  Monitors current year budget to actual results, analyzes and presents findings. Designs, produces, and disseminates budget reports

  Facilitates budget updates throughout the fiscal year, including ad hoc updates (ensuring proper approvals in place)

  Conducts reviews of funding availability to inform decision-making. Initiates analyses at own discretion and elevates requests or questions to various audiences. Synthesizes findings and determines short- and long-term ramifications for all stakeholders

  Manages day-to-day financial and accounting activities including monitoring corporate card usage, payments to vendors, processing reimbursements, and journal entries among others.

  Ensures that all financial activities are timely, accurate, and compliant with funding guidelines, and University policies and procedures.

  Manages the accounting for all inter-institutional awards and payments, ensuring compliance with donor guidelines.

  Provides financial information for fundraising purposes and restricted funds as requested.

  Serves as the liaison between OPP Finance and Administration, OPP units, CADM Finance and Administration, and Schools departments as needed.

  Serves as a contributor to quarterly and year-end closing processes and distribution of quarterly reports

  Develops ad-hoc reporting for use in financial planning; conducts analyses to respond to strategic requests with actionable recommendations

  Supervises Financial Associate and may supervise other staff as needed.
