  Job Type: Officer of AdministrationRegular/Temporary: RegularHours Per Week: 35Salary Range: $85,000 - $100,000The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

  Position Summary

  Reporting to the Director of Exam Accommodations, and in compliance with ADA, Section 504 and Section 508 of the Federal Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Assistant Director of Exam Accommodations will manage all aspects of the day-to-day administration of accommodated exams and proctoring service, including processing a high volume of academic/exam accommodation for eligible students with disabilities. The Assistant Director will also manage the daily operations and services of Disability Services Testing Center. They will oversee Testing Center staff, including hiring, onboarding, and training of Proctors, Scribes, and other casual employees. This position generally assures procedural compliance and academic integrity as well as upholding individual student accommodations, test conditions set by faculty and departmental policies and procedures.

  This is an essential onsite role. Some hybrid work options may be considered.

  Responsibilities

  Exam Administration 70%

  Manage and process over 11,000 accommodated exams annually for students with approved testing accommodations.Reviews administrative requirements prior to testing event to ensure integrity, and successful implementation and execution of students testing accommodations.Collaborates with the Director of Exam Accommodations to plan proctoring sessions and Testing Center activities. Effectively deploys fully trained proctors to administer scheduled accommodated exams. Serves as primary liaison to faculty, staff, and students to address testing issues; corresponds with faculty regarding the facilitation of testing accommodations; contacts faculty to secure test and instructions for test administration and responds to inquiries regarding accommodated exam.Triage and manage issues raised by Proctors, elevates critical exam related issues to the Director; responds to students' inquiries regarding their scheduled accommodated exam; troubleshoots and resolves testing issues to ensure efficient and quality service deliverySupervision/Administrative Management 25%

  Collaborates with the Director of Exam Accommodations to develop and update services, policies and procedures in response to changing demands.Manages the day-to-day operations of Disability Services Testing Center administrative activities including coverage for the Testing Center and a range of evening and late-night testing events.Manages the Testing Center resources including testing supplies and equipment; problem solve around logistical and operational issues as it relates to accommodated exams and related services.Assumes functional and procedural supervision including onboarding, training, mentoring, performance management, and oversight for Exam Accommodations professional staff.Manages and supervises responsibilities of Proctors and other casual testing center personnel; plans and coordinates scheduling, work assignments, reviews, and approves timesheets and time off requests for direct reports.Recruits a cohort of approximately 100 proctors, scribes, and other part time casual staff; forecast casual staffing needs for peak operation and maintains a team of highly trained proctors for a range of accommodated exams.Plans and conducts Disability Services Testing Center staff onboarding, conducts initial ongoing training for Testing Center staff and Proctors to ensure accommodated exams are administered in compliance with policies and procedures.Maintains Testing Center statistics including number of people tested, number and type of tests administered. Prepares monthly and annual reports and makes recommendations to the supervisor concerning staffing and programming implications.Provides technical assistance to faculty and staff on issues and policies related to testing and disabilities accommodated services, exam administration procedures, and related services and policies.Advises students, parents, faculty, and University administrators and staff on disability issues.Presents on behalf of Disability Services at meetings, workshops and seminars. Performs other duties as assigned (5%)

  Minimum Qualifications

  Bachelor's degree required, preferably in rehabilitation, special education, counseling, psychology, social work, higher education, or a related field.Requires a minimum of 4 years' related experience.Previous experience managing personnel (professional and student staff) with demonstrated ability to train employees and foster a collaborative work environmentExperience managing and supervising accommodations and services for people with disabilities, knowledge of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and ADA ComplianceRequires exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and organizational skills with knowledge of planning and scheduling techniques.Must be highly motivated, organized and detailed oriented with ability to manage complex procedures and work with multiple collaborators effectively.Strong analytical thinker with ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, ability to identify and prioritize urgent key tasks with superior attention to detail.Requires consummate skills in diplomacy and confidentiality with sensitive University data.Requires strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office, awareness, and comfort with assistive technology.Preferred Qualifications

  Master's degree in rehabilitation, special education, counseling, psychology, social work, higher education, or a related field.Experience working with students with disabilities and managing a testing center or overseeing testing administration in a university or other higher education setting.Previous experience working with students with disabilities within higher education or similar environments.Advanced experience in managing and analyzing complex systems and process improvement strategies like KPIs.Other Requirements

  Requires occasional weekend, and late evening hours during times of peak operational volume
