As the Assistant Controller, you will oversee the day to day of the accounting staff and send reports to the Controller. Your responsibilities
Discern and establish process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency
Additional duties as assigned
Ensure regular account reconciliation to completion
Seasoned preparation and coordination of fiscal year-end audits
Create accountability and the meeting of deliverables
Develop relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like the monthly flash report, actual spend against budgets/outlook, and key financial metrics
Draw up numerous procedures, policies, and technical accounting analyses
Facilitate to ensure a competent, trained staff through regular assessment, development, and goal setting
Pitch in to the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including budgeting and forecasting
Backfill for Controller where necessary
Back implementation and make sure adherence to accounting policies and procedures
Manage the accounting team during the closing process to make sure deadlines are met
Examine and build Ad Hoc financial reports
Requirements - Profound knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
Dynamic accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferredAbility to multitask and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
Accomplished in analytical, quantitative and social skills
Quality experience with Vantage
Proven knowledge of financial reporting
Practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel
General familiarity with financial statements consolidation
Wide ranging experience with month end closings
Earlier work involving GAAP Accounting
Inventory analysis experience
Strong familiarity with Annual Inventory
Well-founded grasp of consolidations
Good understanding of CPA
Experience with Monthly Financial Reporting
Job Cost experience preferred
Solid understanding of Standard Cost Accounting
5+ years of general ledger accounting experience
Understanding GAAP and firm accounting policies and procedure
Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired
CPA certification a plus
