  ATS Scientific Products has an opening for an Electrical/Mechanical Assember to join the team!

  The Assembler will assemble electrical apparatus, control equipment and their sub-assemblies under general supervision while following drawings, procedures and other written documentation.

  ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  Reviews and follows basic electrical drawings, routers, and work orders as guidelines for assembly and installation of components; Secures assistance when required to interpret drawings or other documentation for completing a job.

  Uses various hand, power and bench tools in the assembly and testing of equipment and assemblies.

  Drills and taps holes to mount objects such as electrical boxes and conduit.

  Measures, cuts and bends conduit.

  Pulls wiring through conduit and wire ways.

  Connects wiring to motors, valves and other components.

  Cuts wires to length, prepares and terminates wire harnesses; Cuts, drills and fits brackets and supports for electrical enclosures.

  Configures and fabricates panel layouts including drilling, tapping and punching of holes with knockout punch.

  Utilizes various types of material handling equipment including hand trucks, carts, fork trucks, scissor lifts, etc. where required and available. Completes paperwork accurately and timely as is required in the manufacturing process, including but not limited to: Time and Attendance Sheets and Nonconformance Reports Cleans, prepares and packages equipment for shipment

  Suggests changes for improved operations and cost savings.

  Follows all safety policies, precautions, recommendations and procedures as may be applicable.

  Complies with all company policies, procedures and work instructions to ensure continued ISO certification.

  Maintains good housekeeping and a well-organized work area.·

  Works or assists in other departments to balance workloads and to meet schedule priorities. May also assist in other non-production areas as may be required by supervision and management. Performs any additional tasks not included above that may be requested by a supervisor and/or management including facility and maintenance tasks.

  QUALIFICATIONS

  EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

  Minimum high school graduate level required.

  Tech or trade school is required and any experience in an industrial and electrical equipment manufacturing environment or electrical motor controls environment is a plus.

  Must have a basic working knowledge of electricity and electro-mechanical equipment as a minimum.

  Good electromechanical aptitude is helpful and preferred.

  MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  Good math skills are preferred to interpret drawings and specifications.

  TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

  Minimum training requirements are as designated on the Electrical Assembly Training Outline Worksheet. Any additional required training is as determined appropriate by the immediate supervisor with inputs from, but not limited to the individual, management, personnel, or the safety committee.

  PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Able to lift and carry items that may be a minimum of 50 pounds or able to move heavier items with hand trucks, dollies, carts or other material handling equipment. May be required to work on ladders, lifts or scaffolds to access tall equipment and machinery.

  WORK ENVIRONMENT

  Some work required in tight spaces. Working with various power requirements from low voltage to high power applications. Various types of equipment, machines, cranes, and material handling items used throughout the shop. Some processes and running equipment can generate moderately loud noises at times. Many areas of the shop are heated (for the cold seasons), but not air conditioned (for the summer months).

  All employees have the responsibility to work in a safe manner and report any health, safety or environmental concern to their manager or supervisor in a timely manner.

  Employee responsibilities for Health, Safety and Environment include:

  Work in compliance with divisional health, safety and environmental procedures

  Refrain from removing or altering safety devices or guarding unless hazardous energies are controlled through lockout-tagout methods

  Report any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts

  Report defect in any equipment or protective device

  Ensure that the required protective equipment is used for the assigned tasks

  Attend all required health, safety and environmental training

  Report any accidents/incidents to supervisor

  Assist in investigating accidents/incidents

  Refrain from engaging in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct

  Salary Range$17-$25/hr.
