Our team includes people from a variety of architectural, engineering and security backgrounds who work together on a wide range of project types including education facilities, office buildings, transit infrastructure, and sports facilities. You'll join a team that is always learning and adapting as we perform risk assessments and advise architects and owners on improving the security of their designs and facilities.Responsibilities:We will provide training to help you develop the following architectural security design skills:* Learn to provide security/protective design consulting services for new and existing construction. Security topics include, but are not limited to physical security, security technology and operational security.* Perform risk assessments of existing or proposed facilities using industry standard threat, vulnerability, and risk assessment (TVRA) methods.* Implementing crowd safety strategies based on best practices and various modelling approaches. Create drawings, sketches, markups, and renderings to convey recommendations to clients.* Draft reports and memorandums to communicate risk assessments, security requirements/recommendations, and other technical design information.* Coordinate security requirements and design information with architects, owners, contractors, and other engineering disciplines.Requirements:* Undergraduate degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Civil or Structural Engineering or other building design disciplines.* 0-2 years of experience in the architecture and engineering industry.* Proficient in one or several of the following software tools:* MS Word, PowerPoint, InDesign* Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino* Excellent verbal and written communication skills* A strong interest in security consulting as it relates to building and infrastructure design and construction.* A desire to become familiar with the relevant standards, best practices, and methodologies for protecting people in and around facilities.* The position requires the candidate to gain and hold US Security clearance.CompensationThe rate for this position generally is$75,000-$85,000annually.This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the Washington State Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful Washington State applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in Washington State or perform the position from Washington State.
