Description of Work Unit
Assist journeyman plumbers with the Construction, operation and remodels the University building plumbing systems to include (but not limited to) such things as: the potable water systems, domestic hot water systems, deionized water, natural gas, fire sprinkler, sanitary and storm systems, process air, vacuum, medical gas, swimming pools and back flow prevention devices to meet the University, Division and Department’s needs and requirements.
Position Summary
Assists a licensed plumber.
Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must demonstrate in the application:
Two years of progressively responsible experience in plumbing and/or plumbing maintenance.Substitutions
The following may substitute for the minimum qualifications of this position:
At the agency’s discretion, successful completion of a formalized plumbing, pipe fitting, steam fitting, or heating, ventilation and air conditioning apprenticeship program, or higher level, non-correspondence course work in the same fields from an accredited vocational school or university may substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.*Please note, unofficial or official transcripts or course verification must be attached with this application.Preferred Qualifications

Registered with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies ( DORA )
Commercial and/ or Industrial plumber experience
Knowledge of International Plumbing Code
Knowledge of International fuel and gas code
Ability to Install, repair, replace all potable water system; sewage and drain systems, natural gas piping, hydronic piping and associated components or fixtures
Knowledge of sewage and drain systems, natural gas piping, hydronic piping and associated components or fixtures
Knowledge of and ability to read blueprints
Attention to detail and strong communication skills
Directly related state service experience
