About Applied Scientist, AWS Responsible AI

  Description

  At AWS, we build and operate AI services responsibly, driving measurable success along multiple Responsible AI dimensions, including safety, fairness, privacy, security, robustness, explainability, and transparency.

  As a scientist on this team, you will:

  Understand in depth the technical and scientific issues related to controllability, safety, fairness, privacy, security, robustness, explainability, and/or transparency,

  Advance the science and practice of responsible AI, working along AWS service teams,

  Build and develop the AWS team,

  Liase with internal and external stakeholders.

  Seattle, WA, USA

  Basic Qualifications

  PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience

  Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language

  Experience in building machine learning models for business application

  Preferred Qualifications

  Experience in Responsible AI

  Willingness to collaborate across diverse stakeholder groups

  Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  Publication record in ML, Responsible AI or a related-field

  Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $260,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
