Join us, and you'll be taking part in changing the future of everyday life.As Applied Science Manager for conversational capabilities data team, you will hire and grow a new team to train Large scale Language Models to power new shopping experience .You will define technical strategy to train these models, fine tune them on human labeled data (HLD) and enable partner science teams to improve this model for a variety of downstream tasks (factoid Q&A, general questions, comparison, summarization). You will define benchmarks for LLMs that reflect LLM performance on all of these tasks and serve as a mechanism for continuous improvement.We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:Seattle, WA, USA- 3+ years of scientists or machine learning engineers management experience- PhD in engineering, technology, computer science, machine learning, robotics, operations research, statistics, mathematics or equivalent quantitative field, or Master's degree and 5+ years of building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business application experience- 7+ years of building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business application experience.- 5+ years of scientists or machine learning engineers management experience.- Knowledge of machine learning approaches and algorithms.- PhD in engineering, technology, computer science, machine learning, robotics, operations research, statistics, mathematics or equivalent quantitative field.Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $147,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $286,000/year in our highest geographic market.
