　　As an Application Engineer, you'll partner with product designers and user experience experts to create the ultimate experience for our customer's on discover.com. By understanding our users and the interconnected network within Discover, you'll develop a delightful user experience. Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.

　　Responsibilities

　　Analyze, design, program, test, and deploy new user stories and features with high quality (security, reliability, operations) to productionTends to Associate Application Engineers by providing learning tasks as well as work related tasks, directs the work of Senior Associate Application Engineers, and helps them continue to growAchieves team commitments (and influence others to do the same) by using informal leadership & highly developed communication skillsHas an oversight on design decisions and guides team to achieve key results for products assigned to themRemediates issues using engineering principles and creates proactive design solutions for potential failuresContributes to and leads technology communities at Discover

　　Minimum Qualifications

　　At a minimum, here's what we need from you:

　　Bachelors - Computer Science or related3+ Years - Information Technology, (Software) Engineering, or related

　　Internal applicants only: technical proficiency rating of competent on the Dreyfus engineering scale

　　Preferred Qualifications

　　Bonus Points If You Have:

　　Experience as part of an Agile engineering or development teamStrong understanding of object-oriented principles with an ability to write clean codeStrong experience working with a relational database and NoSQL databaseStrong experience with CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins or similar; Git/GitHub; ArtifactoryProven skills in high availability and scalability design, as well as performance monitoringExperience in Kafka, Rabbit MQ, Spring boot, Snowflake, Oracle, Tableau Experience in working in a cloud environment such as AWS, GCP or Azure.Build secure web applications with user authenticationUnderstanding of software testing principles and methodologiesExperience in Java, HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery and CSSExpertise with cross web responsive development Knowledge in React

　　The base pay for this position generally ranges between $86,500.00 to $146,100.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package.
