Position Overview
The AP Operations Supervisor is responsible for managing a highly engaged team that provides efficient, quality support and outstanding customer service for AP related tasks, for all areas of the Kiewit organization. This team monitors AP system for correct Tax data, reviews invoices for tax requirements, and assists disbursement team with payment processing. The supervisor will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with non-resident withholding tax laws, 1099 reporting, subcontractor closeouts, and other compliance activities, while mentoring and guiding the team in these areas.

Location
This position is based out of our Kiewit Business Center at 12720 I Street. This is a shared service center in a professional office setting. We do not offer relocation for this position but do allow a Hybrid work schedule of 2 days from home.
Responsibilities
Supervise a team of 7-10 which will include training, mentoring, process improvement and providing guidance with technical and personnel issues
Research, advise and train team on tax regulations that impact our business and how we handle transactions
Articulate clear performance goals and provide frequent performance measurement feedback
Establish priorities, allocate time to maximize benefits, manage team resources to ensure the highest level of productivity and accuracy
Make clear assignments to team; empower others by extending responsibility and authority; provide timely feedback and follow-up
Hold team and others accountable for expected quality and accuracy
Pro-actively seek opportunities for continuous improvement within the department and act upon findings to initiate improvements, presenting ideas in a persuasive way to gain support
Provide the highest level of customer service and support; understand Kiewit’s core business and promote a sense of urgency toward business critical issues
Monitor daily team workloads and assist as backup when necessary
Maintain/Create process documents, training material and work instructions as needed
Perform various data analysis and reporting
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in accounting, business or related field
Minimum of 3+ years supervising teams with the ability to coach and mentor the team and develop their skills to achieve our goals and metrics, ideally in accounting/business functions
Experience with Accounting, with knowledge/understanding of accounts payable functions and related compliance (non-resident withholding taxes, 1099 reporting, subcontract closeouts, etc)
Business and management skills: organization and time management, critical thinking, risk mitigation, decision-making and relationship building
Leadership skills: emotional intelligence, effective communication, coaching, problem solving, conflict resolution, delegation, talent management and team-building
Strong verbal and written communication skills, clearly conveys messages and ideas, gains understanding; generates interest and holds attention, listens and is open to the ideas of others
Ability to make decisions and plans based on the vision, direction and long-term strategy of the organization, as well as experience in implementing strategies and of defining and establishing procedures
High level of initiative with commitment and ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while still maintaining high quality standards
Ability to motivate and coach individuals to develop their skills enabling them to achieve their best and to contribute to the overall success of the team and KBS
Open to change and new information; able to rapidly adapt to changing conditions or unexpected obstacles; demonstrates flexibility in thought and action

Travel as needed (Travel < 5%)
