Des Moines Public Schools is seeking a Student Services Professional Learning Facilitator.Preference for this position will be given to candidates possessing background as a special education consultant, school social worker, or school psychologist.Job Summary:Provide professional development and support to special education teachers and support staff regarding the implementation of the district's curriculum, goals, and initiatives. This position requires continuous use of independent judgment. The essential functions as shown below represent only the key areas of responsibility; specific position requirements will vary depending on the needs of the Student and Family Services Department.Successful candidates for this position will possess:Master’s Degree in Special Education, Curriculum and Design, Educational Leadership, or related areaValid Iowa Teaching License or Statement of Professional Recognition (SPR)Minimum of four years of experience in at least one of the following areas: Math, Literacy, Social Emotional Learning, Special Education, Significant DisabilitiesBuilding or district level leadership experienceExperience designing and facilitating professional development for small and large groups of adultsPlease see attached job descripton for further information on functions of the position along with educational and experience requirements.
