UPMC Shadyside is hiring a casual Anesthesia Tech Student to join their anesthesia department! This position will be Monday through Fridays with a 6am-3pm/5pm/7pm schedule.

　　Purpose:

　　Under supervision, performs a wide variety of entry level duties related to and involving the preparation of supplies and equipment for patients undergoing anesthetic procedures.

　　Responsibilities:

　　Ensure contaminated equipment is cleaned, disinfected per policy, and returned to service quickly.

　　Ensure there is adequate equipment available.

　　Terminal cleaning of anesthesia equipment and stocking of carts at the end of each day.

　　Maintain equipment cables and supplies in workroom.

　　Responsible for intra-operative blood delivery and return as per transfusion policy.

　　Prompt turn over O.R. suites between cases.

　　Must be able to perform other duties and responsibilities as directed.

　　Deliver supplies and equipment to Professional Staff as needed immediately when called for.

　　Workroom and all areas of responsibility kept clean and neat at all times.

　　Preparation of IV solutions and monitoring equipment.

　　Retrieves, prepares, and appropriately distributes equipment as directed.

　　High School Diploma or GED required.

　　Enrolled in an anesthesia tech program or an undergraduate nursing program.

　　Must demonstrate knowledge and skills to progress to Anesthesia Technician position.

　　Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

　　Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
