OBJECTIVE
Reporting to the Director, Operational Control and Reporting (OCR), the role of the Analyst, Operational Control and Reporting is to complete insurance carrier statement reconciliations to the company Broker Management System and make necessary adjustments for all HCC business units. In addition, the Operational Control and Reporting Analyst will prepare and organize commission accounts payable reports and perform other routine accounting transactions using company systems and Microsoft Excel.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Complete insurance carrier statement reconciliations to company Broker Management System and make necessary adjustments for all HCC business units
Match transactions between insurance carrier statements and internal company systems
Identify correcting transactions and determine if correcting entries are required
Maintain organized records of insurance carrier statements
Compile and validate external broker commission payments and provide to accounting for processing
Compile and validate internal producer commission expenses and provide to payroll for processing
Summarize, validate, and report on agency bill net premium owed to insurance carriers
Submit to accounting for processing
Maintain accounts receivable sub ledger
Provide communication to relevant parties to ensure timely collection
Review, summarize and provide cheque requests to accounting for client refunds, facility and other amounts owed
Reconcile payments received to the company Broker Management System
Calculate joint venture payments and provide to accounting for payment
Summarize and submit RST payments to accounting team
Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly reporting to customers and business partners
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Degree or Diploma in Accounting
Minimum of 3 years’ work experience in a related field
Intermediate knowledge of excel and other Microsoft office tools
Understanding or experience with QuickBooks is an asset
Knowledge of reconciliation process and principles
Experience in the insurance industry is an asset
Understanding or experience with Broker Management Systems an asset
High degree of attention to detail
High degree of professionalism and ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
Strong communication skills
Ability to work independently and take initiative to perform job duties
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Employees generally work in an office setting.
The majority of work is done sitting at a desk using a company issued phone and computer with opportunities to move about the office when needed.
