The Air Quality Planner develops the regulatory framework necessary to implement Montana’s air quality regulatory programs and to ensure that Montana’s State Implementation Plan (SIP) is adequate to achieve and maintain compliance with the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS). Responsibilities include researches and identifies changes to state and federal statutes, legislation, rules, policies, and guidance to determine if there are any impacts to Montana’s air quality programs; and develops air quality emission control plans, rules, policies and guidance to ensure Montana’s federally enforceable SIP is adequate to achieve and maintain compliance with the NAAQS.
