Description:
Reporting to the Manager Facilities Maintenance, this position is responsible for interpreting, preparing, constructing and installing varied carpentry project requests submitted from hospital departments, and working closely with Supervisor and/or Joint Management to solve problems.
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Minimum three years experience as a carpenter in a hospital setting is required.
Exceptional performance, quality of work, initiative, and work ethic, as well as an advanced knowledge of service area is required.
Knowledge of hand and power tools including table saw, radial arm saw, band saw, sabre saw, routers, sanders, pneumatic air nailers, glue spray equipment, drills, planes, chisels, files, etc. is required.
Ability to work from plans and drawings and sketch plans to specifications is preferred.
Knowledge of commercial installation of doors, hardware, locks and closures, building and fire codes is required.
Ability to problem solve is required.
Pay Range ($31.69 - $42.79)
