The Central Affiliate team works across 15 of our digital brands, supporting our editorial teams in generating eCommerce revenue through premium digital content. We do this by growing and maintaining relationships with key Affiliate partners, and through optimising shoppable content in line with performance metrics. We work with many of the UKs largest retailers and merchants, spanning multiple categories including Beauty, Home, Tech & Travel. Our goal is to grow our eCommerce performance through diversification, innovation, and optimisation that is in service to our brands. This role will report directly into the Affiliate Manager under the leadership of the Head of Ecommerce, sitting within the Brand Diversification team.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The primary objective of this role is to increase Affiliate revenues through negotiating competitive Affiliate deals with key merchants and by optimising eCommerce content closely with our editorial teams. Build vertical-level strategies to deliver Affiliate campaigns against brand and business goals. Manage relationships with key Affiliate merchants and retailers within multiple verticals, optimising commission rates and performance metrics to drive revenue growth. Identify diversification opportunities with regards to Affiliate tenancy, negotiate and manage tenancy deals with key partners. Work alongside other departments to ensure all tenancy campaigns are well-executed and deliverables met and clearly reported. Maintain a strong profile within major networks, sub-networks and Affiliate agencies to identify new growth opportunities. Work with editorial to ensure all evergreen and seasonally relevant content is fully optimised on a regular basis, making recommendations on linking and product/merchant positioning. Collaborate with editorial teams to optimise revenues from high-performing merchants, Affiliate platforms such as Linkby, and through diversified audience channels. Assist with execution of any paid search/social activity. Manage communications to editorial teams regarding deals, promotions, sales, exclusives, and new rates. Support with group wide analysis andcommunicationsfor key shopping moments such as Black Friday, Cyber Monday & Prime Day. Ensure content is clear of broken links, out of stock and 404 errors on a regular basis. Support any innovation / technical site implementation projects to grow Affiliate revenue. Contribute to monthly & quarterly ecommerce reporting to the business. Manage any ad hoc data analysis requests by internal teams. You may be required to undertake such further duties as your skills, qualifications and experience allow and/or as may be assigned to you from time to time.
ABOUT YOU Proven experience working in the Affiliate Marketing industry. Good understanding of Affiliate Marketing in the digital media industry specifically. Knowledge of Hearst's brand portfolio and editorial values. Strong attention to detail and organisation skills, ability to meet deadlines and respond proactively. Excel and data analysis capabilities, ability to spot trends and anomalies in multiple data sets, as well as reporting capabilities. Detailed understanding of key Affiliate performance indicators such as Earnings Per Click, Cost Per Acquisition, Cost Per Click. Confidence when presenting data to internal and external stakeholders. Ability to work well as a team and contribute to the wider business strategy.Desirable Additional experience: Experience working with Affiliate networks and subnetworks such as Skimlinks, as well as Affiliate agencies. Commercial negotiation and sales experience. Basic knowledge of paid search and paid social acquisition channels. Understanding of technical requirements within digital media.
