About Advisor, Rural Network (P3)

  Description

This is a temporary role with an expected duration until the end of June 2025.

  Summary

Save the Children’s U.S. Programs (USP) division is committed to ensuring that all children in rural America have a healthy, strong foundation to thrive as learners and in life. Our contribution to a full cradle-to-career continuum is focused on the early years, birth through elementary school; and our goals are to increase kindergarten readiness and grade-level literacy and math proficiency for children in under-resourced rural communities.

Save the Children, in partnership with its advocacy arm, Save the Children Action Network (SCAN), works with four types of local leaders in rural communities: parents and caregivers, program providers, community partners, and elected officials, and engages rural leaders across networks, initiatives, and programs and resources that offer increased opportunities for leader-driven gatherings, peer-learning, funding, advocacy campaigns, and training. Collaboration through the ELN Collective will enable Save the Children and our partners to create efficiencies that will support Save the Children's emerging focus on place-based initiatives in rural settings and enable ELN Collective national organizations to grow their reach into rural America.

Save the Children is seeking an Advisor, Rural Network. In this role, you will lead network administration and member recruitment, support establishment of new national networks launched in 2023, and increase focus on early learning within existing sector-specific national networks, such as Rural Child Care Network and other national networks.

What You’ll Be Doing (Essential Duties)

Co-design a regional convening with ELN Collective national partners to connect local leaders from geographically close or similar communities to promote peer learning, share best practices, align local efforts, and facilitate connections to partners’ TTA offerings.

Facilitate connection with other members of the collective to increase leadership development opportunities and reduce barriers to existing training and technical assistance offerings.

In partnership with Save the Children Action Network (SCAN), support the development of 501(c)(3) compliant advocacy tools and skills for local leaders in the ELN collective.

Co-design and develop networks with local parents, caregivers, and other leaders through a variety of activities including design sessions, focus groups, surveys, participation in review committees, and ongoing leader feedback to inform continuous quality improvements.

Leverage relationships and trust built with families engaged in existing programmatic interventions (e.g., Early Steps to School Success) and place-based community approaches to increase rural parent and caregiver access to high quality TTA.

Facilitate the engagement of rural leaders in various leadership program offerings across the ELN Collective and enable the ELN Collective national organizations to strengthen their reach and impact across rural America.

Provide network status and learnings to leadership and support the creation of relevant and integrated programmatic supports that develop all national networks.

Monitor and manage national network enrollment, national network relationships, and related management systems.

  Partnership Development (20%)
