Job ID359220 LocationTwin Cities Job FamilyMarketing & Communications Full/Part TimeFull-Time Regular/TemporaryRegular Job Code9761MG Employee ClassAcad Prof and Admin About the Job Position Overview: This position will work in partnership with the Assistant Dean for Advancement and Director of Communications and Marketing to develop CSE's bold, aspirational vision and identify emerging opportunities to support the growth of the school's brand and impact objectives. Additionally, the role will include extensive partnership with members of the Advancement Team in the identification and development of assets that drive critical fundraising and engagement efforts among alumni, donors and other key external stakeholders. Job Duties: (45%) Develop marketing materials that demonstrate the power of philanthropy and advance the College's fundraising and engagement efforts. Work closely with development officers to ensure they have the materials to successfully engage with and convert prospective donors. Develop materials to support campaigns, including major and bridge campaigns. Coordinate impactful fundraising marketing collateral, assets, and case statements, working closely with key faculty and staff. Support proposal development for key solicitations and coordinate on additional proposal development as requested. Partner with the stewardship and annual giving team to ensure consistent exchange of content and ensure that impact reporting and donor appeal strategies are aligned with broader messaging efforts. Partner with the alumni and events team to inform messaging and outreach as needed. (30%) Create and curate content that tells CSE's unique and compelling story, expanding what is possible across the College and advancing relationships with alumni, donors and industry partners. Develop key talking points for College leadership and team members. Support speech/program writing as needed for events with external partners. Lead the development of CSE's case for philanthropic support heading into the next campaign. Generate editorial concepts and story content that align with fundraising, stewardship and engagement goals established by the Office of Advancement. Establish and maintain key relationships across CSE's large and complex enterprise of departments and units to encourage content-sharing. Recognize and influence opportunities to build a broader view within College-wide alumni and donor communications. (25%) Direct the production and upkeep of assigned email, online and print publications in collaboration with the CSE Communication and Marketing Team. Coordinate the re-launch of a quarterly e-newsletter targeted to alumni, donors, and friends of CSE. Work on the identification and development of alumni- and donor-related content for the annual print issue of "Inventing Tomorrow". Ensure brand consistency and integrity in all materials. Research and test new methods and approaches to delivering content. Measure results of these efforts. Develop best practices and create a culture of constant improvement in CSE. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field and at least six years professional marketing experience, including developing and coordinating marketing content and communications assets. Demonstrated strong oral and written communications skills. Proven experience developing and implementing strategic marketing and communication plans. Demonstrated commitment to inclusion of diverse perspectives and experiences. Experience editing and writing compelling, strategically aligned content and persuasive copy that encourages a response from targeted audiences. Proficiency drafting content for a variety of media, including print, web, video, and live presentations, and effectively re-purposing content from one medium to another. Adaptability to changing conditions or circumstances, requiring creative solutions and innovative approaches. Experience managi g multiple, concurrent editorial and content projects. Ability to diplomatically balance the needs of various stakeholders. Working knowledge of e-communications, social media, Microsoft Office, and/or Google Workspace. Ability to work in a team setting and develop relationships across all levels of an organization. Attention to detail, procedures, and branding standards. Ability to solve problems and work independently. Preferred Qualifications: Eight or more years working in professional marketing or related field. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite. Experience hiring and supervising the work of freelance consultants and vendors. Previous experience in a fundraising/non-profit environment, especially in a higher education setting.
