This is an anticipated vacancy
This position is clerical and will function at the Pasquotank/Camden County Maintenance Unit within Division One in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Duties include typing forms and correspondences, filing, computer data entry, assisting the public with maintenance inquiries/problems by telephone and in-person office contact, processing monthly reports in SAP and Excel, maintaining and ordering inventory/supplies, processing weekly payroll, processing invoice payments, completing worker's comp., accident, and other reports as needed, and other general office duties as required. Position is responsible for processing overtime, meal reimbursements, and travel advances associated with storm events. The employee will serve as the receptionist answering the telephone and directing calls to the appropriate person. The employee will assist employees with personnel related questions/documents. The employee may also be required to work extended hours during snow/ice and other emergency situations. Must be able to legally operate a State vehicle.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Experience completing and/or maintaining records and reports
Experience interpreting and/or explaining policies, procedures, and laws

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
